How to apply as Erasmus student?
for STUDY
- First you should contact the Erasmus Coordinator or the International Relations Office at your home institution and take part in the Erasmus recruitment process.
- Having been accepted as a Erasmuse xchange student by your own university, you should check courses are offered in English at the faculty you would like apply to (see: "Courses in English").
- Next you should download and fill in the application forms: "Application Forms", collect signatures and stamps and then send all the paperwork to the Academic Exchange Office of the University of Bielsko-Biala. These application forms should be submitted to the AEO by the deadline of: for the winter semester - 1st June, for the summer semester - 1st December.
- In order to receive relevant and up-to-date information about the courses you have chosen or other didactic issues, contact the Coordinator of the faculty at which you will be studying and the CIE officer in case you have any problems concerning administrative affairs (see "Contacts"). Note that we do not consider your application complete until we have received all the necessary documents together with some other paperwork (the copy of your ID document/passport - along with the documents, and the copy of the health insurance - before the arrival).
- Once we have received your documents, they have to be formally approved on our part.
- When they are signed, we will send you a Letter of Acceptance.
- Once you have your Letter of Acceptance, you should make arrangements for your arrival as soon as possible.
for TRAINEESHIP
We would also like to invite you to undergo traineeship as part of the Erasmus programme at our university. The traineeship may take place in various organizational units (at the department/faculty or interdepartamental units).
The traineeship programme is adapted to the needs of each student, depending on the object of the traineeship and the field of studies.
- Having been granted permission to undergo a traineeship programme abroad, you need to contact the Academic Exchange Office or directly the coordinator of a given faculty in order to arrange the training at our institution (see "Contacts").
- Then a detailed training programme and schedule is prepared, involving all the elements required and necessary for performing the Learning Agreement for Traineeship.
- Next you should download and fill in the application forms: "Application forms", collect signatures and stamps and send all the paperwork to the Academic Exchange Office of the University of Bielsko-Biala.
- Once we have received your documents, they have to be formally approved on our part.
- When they are signed, we will send you a Letter of Acceptance.
- Then you should make arrangements for your arrival.

About University
The University of Bielsko-Biala (Akademia Techniczno-Humanistyczna w Bielsku-Bialej) was founded in October 2001 as an independent governmental academic institution. Previously, since 1969, it had been a branch of the Technical University of Lodz (Politechnika Lódzka). The machine-design, electrical and textile industries are traditional for the region so the main education areas have been long established. With the change in the economy, there have also developed other fields of study including management, humanities, environmental and computer sciences.
At present there are about 4500 students studying at five faculties of the University which employ experienced academic staff. The number of is constantly growing and currently there work about 400 people, with 200 professors and doctors. There are also several independent units at the University: the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Physical Education and Sport, the Main Library and the Centre of Postgraduate Studies.
The University of Bielsko-Biala is open to new ideas and opportunities to improve modern educational tools. Internationalization has become here the most important objective of the University being constantly promoted through its participation in various European network projects.
The University cooperates with institutions from all over the world and the number of agreements is growing rapidly each year - nowadays the University of Bielsko-Biala has agreements with over 100 institutions in more than 25 countries.
