The Silesian Universities Network (SUN) was established in 2010 as an initiative of nine public universities located in the province of Silesia mainly in order to promote the Silesian higher education, both in Poland and abroad, as well as to take joint actions aimed at improving the image of the Region as a big academic and educational centre.
The Network unites universities of various nature related to: the Arts, Humanities, Economy or Technology, which together present a wide range of educationl options in hundreds of faculties at bachelor's, master's, bachelor's of science, postgraduate of PhD level. Currently, SUN consists of:
The members of SUN wish to ensure that foreign students are offered a comprehensive organization of their stay in Silesia. Thus, they undertake joint initiatives facilitating access to the best teaching programmes and implement together the elements of social programmes aimed at making their stay more attractive. The planned results of the cooperation mainly relate to integrating academic societies of the Silesian province, internationalizing the Silesian public higher education institutions as well as improving the atractiveness of the Refion as a place to learn and study.
Eclipses and shadows
A painter and singer, Magdalena Łazar-Massier presents her works at the University Academic Gallery. The virtual opening of the exhibition entitled "Eclipses and shadows" took place during the University Senate meeting on October 27. The exhibition will be open until 20 November 2020.
Magdalena Łazar-Massie shows us mainly nocturne paintings that illustrate the synthesis of her thoughts and emotions related to the space of the real landscape, remembered and transferred to canvas or paper in the form of a collage. Her way of artistic expression is rich in inexpressible metaphorical symbols that are a record of traces of memory related to her life.
